The Scott Ferrall Show on Sirius Satellite Radio

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

Sirius Satellite Radio has recently announced that they will be entering into an agreement with Scott Ferrall, sports talk personality. Ferrall will continue to host the weeknight sports call-in show, The Scott Ferrall Show, which has become quite popular and gained a tremendous following. The show airs live on Monday through Friday from 8pm-12am ET on Howard 101. This is one of the two Howard Stern channels that are exclusive to Sirius.

Ferrall has developed a reputation for being somewhat no holds barred when it comes to broadcasting. His style; however, is quite popular with many has led to him becoming a leading figure in both talk radio as well as sports for nearly 20 years. Over the years Ferrall has hosted a variety of radio shows in local as well as national markets.

This news is further indication of the steps which Sirius has taken in recently in order to ensure they continue to provide quality, unique broadcasting and programming to subscribers that simply is not available on standard radio programming.

Sirius has become well known for its pledge to provide quality exclusive programming to viewers covering many different genres. The day Howard Stern signed his exclusive deal with Sirius was certainly one of the biggest days in the fledgling history of satellite radio. Stern continues to host his own no holds bared, no censorship program that draws in millions of listeners each and every day.

Just a few months ago, Sirius announced that they had reached an agreement to extend their exclusive deal with Bruce Morrow, otherwise known as ‘Cousin Brucie’ to fans. The deal is a multi-year agreement that will ensure Cousin Brucie remains on the air for many years to come. While Sirius is known for broadcasting programming in many instances that is somewhat edge, Cousin Brucie has proven to be quite popular, along with his Saturday Night Party; a program which originally aired in 1958.

Today he continues to play a variety of popular hits from the 1950s and 1960s. Like many other radio personalities who have found a home on Sirius, Morrow reported that he had chosen to stay with Sirius not only because of the large following he has been able to continue with Sirius but also because of the large degree of creative freedom which he is granted with the company. It is this creative freedom that is continuing to draw some of the biggest names in entertainment and radio away from traditional radio broadcasting and into the satellite radio industry.

Currently Sirius offers 130+ channels to subscribers. It continues to offer the only music channels that are 100% free of commercials while also offering a variety of sports, entertainment, news talk, weather and traffic channels and programming as well. In addition to the variety of sports talk programs such as Ferrall’s show and music programs like Cousin Brucie, Sirius also offers play by play live broadcasts of NFL and NBA games. Live NASCAR races are also broadcast on Sirius.
