Sirius Gold Live From the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

Monday, October 6th, 2008

As dream jobs go, Norm N. Nite, has a job to be envied by music fans around the world. When he rocks and rolls on into work as a Sirius DJ he is surrounded by music history where he broadcasts live from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio. Norm’s program airs Saturdays and Sundays from 3 – 6 pm on Sirius Gold, Sirius channel 5. Larry Morrow broadcasts live from the Rock Hall Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3 – 6pm on Sirius Gold. “Classic Vinyl” also broadcasts from the Hall of Fame Wednesday – Sundays from 10 am – 1 pm. “Classic Vinyl” airs classic rock from the ‘60s and ‘70s and is available on Sirius channel 14.

Classic music fans can only imagine the thrill and excitement of walking past the exhibits while gearing up for an afternoon of DJ work playing ‘50s favorites. Norm N. Nite gets to live the dream while being a part of a radio giant, Sirius XM Radio, with over 18 million subscribers. The shrine of Rock ‘n Roll features an exhibit that changes each year, bringing visitors a variety of history and memorabilia through the use of film, video, kiosks and music. Thousands of artifacts line the museum including items on loan from artists and collectors. What a fabulous home for a Sirius Gold program!

Sirius Gold is the home of Sirius XM Radio’s rock ‘n roll ‘50s and ‘60s era. This channel is the place where women put on their poodle skirts and bobby socks while men don their leather jackets for a night of cruising in the 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible. It’s a place where doo wop is king and Fats Domino bangs out the keys to “Whole Lotta Lovin’.” Whether you lived through the 50s, or know someone who did, Sirius Gold takes listeners on a trip down memory lane with artists such as Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, the Four Seasons, and many more.

In addition to Norm N. Nite and Larry Morrow’s broadcasts LIVE From the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, Sirius Gold has two additional regular programs: “Remember Then,” hosted by Norm, plays tunes from a specific year; and “Doo Wop Gold,” hosted by TJ Lubinsky. TJ brings listeners doo wop at its finest with rare concert tracks, interviews, original recordings, and artist profiles. “Doo Wop Gold” encourages listener participation, taking caller requests for favorite tunes.

Sirius Gold and Classic Vinyl are just two of the many music channels available to Sirius XM Radio subscribers. This satellite radio provider brings listeners a variety of music including jazz, blues, rock, classical, the standards, R&B, hip-hop, country, and more. Unlike local radio stations Sirius XM Radio airs all music channels 100% commercial free. In addition to these music offerings satellite radio subscribers have access to channels dedicated to specific artists such as Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, the Grateful Dead, Jimmy Buffett and Bruce Springsteen.
